Cagliari Calcio has delivered the update of the economic-financial plan of the project for the new stadium to the municipality.

Expenses more than doubled : 157.4 million excluding VAT, compared to the 70 foreseen in the initial project .

Who will put the money? According to the plan presented by the club together with its industrial partner, the Costim group, around 100 million (excluding VAT) will be offered by the successful tenderer. The other 60 are public contributions, 10 paid by the Municipality of Cagliari and already approved as reimbursement for the demolition of the current Sant'Elia. Of the remaining 50, the company's statement does not provide details, but they should come from the Region .

The updating of the project was carried out with Monitor Deloitte, financial advisor on the economic aspects, with the support of the Chiomenti law firm. It was drawn up to respond to the note of last October 20 from the municipality of Cagliari.

The next steps of an infinite procedure : managers and technicians will evaluate the project, which will have to pass to the city council to obtain the declaration of public interest, which had already been approved in 2019 but must be approved again due to the changes to the project.

Then the municipality will have to ask the Region for authorization to be delegated to open the decision-making Conference of Services. And only from when will the 180 days for the definitive ok start to run . The contract for the assignment of the works will follow, which should last two years. Assuming a date for the end of the construction site today would be risky.
