Thieves in action late yesterday afternoon in via Mameli, in Cagliari: a young couple robbed Emerald, a shop selling typical Sardinian products that also deals in truffles from Laconi, the town of origin of the owners, sisters Federica and Veronica Carta.

And it is one of the two, Federica, who tells what is also documented by a video recorded by the cameras of the video surveillance system.

It was just after 7:00 p.m. In the images, you can see a boy kicking a side window while his accomplice acts as lookout, in via Maddalena. "He tried to force access for about half an hour," says the shopkeeper. Then he manages to get in: a leap, while he brings the lapel of his jacket to his face, and he is immediately at the cash register: "He took everything that was there: a considerable sum," says Carta.

Inside the action was lightning fast. But the lens captured the young man's face. All the material will be handed over to the police.

"We have been here for about two years," explains the entrepreneur, "and unfortunately it is not the first time that episodes of this type have occurred, such as damage and attempted thefts: this is the first successful one. We are close to Piazza del Carmine, in a spot that is not at all lit," she complains, "and yet we are right in the center of the capital of Sardinia: it is scandalous."
