A night of fire and fear in the heart of Cagliari. Around 4 a.m., four cars were engulfed in flames on Via Ada Negri, a road that connects Via Grazia Deledda with Via Sant'Eusebio.

The fire and the bursting tires woke up residents in the area, who could do nothing but watch as the firefighters responded.

Crews arrived promptly, but the vehicles—the fire started in one and then spread to the other three—were completely destroyed. The facade of the adjacent building was also damaged, blackening it all the way to the terrace.

Shortly afterward, flames destroyed the newsstand on Viale Diaz, a short distance away: it cannot be ruled out that the incidents may be connected.
