He was under house arrest, but he tampered with his electronic bracelet and left home.

A 47-year-old unemployed man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested yesterday by the Carabinieri in Cagliari.

The alarm was triggered when the operations centre detected an anomaly in the surveillance device, signalling possible tampering .

A patrol was immediately dispatched to the man's home, where officers found him outside, violating the imposed measure. Investigations later confirmed that the 47-year-old had intentionally cut and damaged the electronic bracelet, rendering it useless.

The man was arrested and taken to the police station for formal procedures . By order of the judicial authorities, he was again placed under house arrest, pending a summary trial, which will take place in the next few hours.
