Those who regularly pass through Viale Diaz will have to arm themselves – once again – with patience: from Thursday 27 March until next 31 December, traffic in the area will undergo further changes due to the light metro works.

The municipal ordinance provides for lane restrictions, parking restrictions and reduced speed limits for the duration of the intervention.

In the stretch between via Della Stazione Vecchia and viale Bonaria, only one lane will remain open in each direction, 3.50 meters wide. Also goodbye to the lane reserved for public transport and beware of the new parking bans, valid 24 hours a day with forced removal. For those in transit, the speed limit will be lowered to 30 km/h.

There will also be changes of direction : those going towards Poetto will no longer be able to turn left onto via Della Stazione Vecchia and at the intersection with via Sonnino they will only be able to continue straight or turn right. In the direction of piazza Amendola, however, only left turns and straight travel will be permitted, with traffic lights regulating traffic.

Changes will also be made to nearby streets : in Viale Bonaria, in the section between Via Sonnino and Via Della Stazione Vecchia, the preferential lane for buses will be eliminated, while in Via Sonnino, in the section leading to Viale Diaz, the speed limit will drop to 30 km/h.

With the construction site active until the end of the year, the people of Cagliari will therefore have to reorganize their usual routes and be ready for some slowdowns, but above all keep an eye on the new signs.
