Easter Monday saw significant disruption at Elmas Airport due to a thick blanket of fog.
The first incoming flights of the day (from Turin, Milan Malpensa, Pescara, Bergamo, and Pisa) were diverted to Alghero. Subsequent flights are experiencing significant delays.
Even takeoff is impossible: flights departed until 8:55 a.m., with all subsequent departures delayed by at least three hours. The departure lounge at the Mario Mameli airport is packed with passengers waiting to learn their fate.
This morning's problem will inevitably have repercussions throughout the day, not only in Cagliari but also on all the connected airports, with a knock-on effect that will ruin Easter Monday for hundreds of travelers.
