The prefect's order extended the reinforced protection zone already established in the heart of Cagliari on Via Sassari up to the intersection with Viale La Playa, along Viale La Playa itself, including the nearby shopping center and the university campus, as well as Piazza Matteotti , in front of the train station.

This decision "responds to the need to ensure increased protection and security in areas that have often been affected by neglect and petty crime, with the aim of ensuring greater safety for citizens and businesses."
