In one case an apartment had been used as an oriental massage centre, but also with red light rooms, in other cases the two-room and three-room apartments had been transformed into brothels.

Three prohibited businesses were discovered in 2021 and 2023 by Carabinieri and police, and the owners were subsequently reported. However, over the years, these businesses have become a major legal problem for the landlords , who are now under investigation for alleged prostitution. During the investigations, it emerged that, in addition to the agreed-upon rent recorded in the contract, the tenants were also paying large sums under the table. This led investigators to suspect that the property owners were also aware of the activity.

The first investigation began in 2021, with a raid on a house in Stampace where three young South American women were discovered who, according to the investigations, had started a paid sex business.
