They attempted to break into a building under renovation to steal whatever they found inside. But the couple, a man and a woman known to law enforcement, were apprehended by the Carabinieri.

The incident occurred last night in the center of Cagliari.

The two, a thirty-year-old from Cagliari and a thirty-eight-year-old from Selargius, were attempting to force open a window armed with a screwdriver and wire cutters when they were caught red-handed by the police.

After the investigations and the necessary formalities were completed, both were arrested on charges of attempted theft.
