In Cabras, a routine weekend checkpoint nearly ended badly. Only the quick thinking of a traffic police officer in Oristano prevented the worst from happening when a fifty-year-old man threw gasoline at him to set him on fire.

The man was eventually arrested for resisting a public officer and attempted arson; after the validation hearing, the judge ordered him to sign in.
