Business bonus against depopulation in Sardinia: only 3.6 million out of 24 requested (and given)
Poor acceptance of the Region's call for the opening of businesses in small municipalities: data from the Cagliari Chamber of CommercePer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
There were 24 million available. Just 3,630,000 were disbursed. The Region's announcement which granted non-repayable financing to companies intending to relocate or set up in municipalities on the island with fewer than 3,000 inhabitants did not attract many businesses.
The data emerges from the report of the Chamber of Commerce Council attached to the budget forecast for 2024. It states that «the deviations in current management are mainly determined by the postponement of interventions and activities planned in the 2023 financial year and partly started in the current financial year for amounts considerably lower than expected". One of these was the business bonus against depopulation, which "provides for a non-repayable contribution of 15,000 euros for the opening or transfer of businesses in a municipality with under 3,000 inhabitants, increased up to 20,000 euros in the event of an increase in employment" .
The Chamber of Commerce, regarding initiatives that have not given the desired results, explains: «Just think of the program financed by
Region which provides for the provision of contributions for business start-ups with resources allocated in 2023 amounting to 24 million and used, based on the applications received, for only 3,630,000 euros".
