After a year of investigations, the agents of the Sassari police station arrested a 29-year-old young man, held responsible for a series of muggings and robberies that took place in the city.

At least three episodes that are contested, some characterized by particular violence .

On 26 July, for example, the young man would have attacked an elderly lady as she left the civic market, therefore in broad daylight, throwing her to the ground with a push, and then stealing her purse.

Last February, however, he had surprised another person returning to the house, grabbed her by the neck and then pointed a gun at her . However, the victim had resisted and in the scuffle a shot had also been fired, which fortunately had not been successful.

Also in a third case the man had attacked his victim at the door of the house, a "tactic" therefore tested by the criminal.

During the investigation, collecting the testimonies, the policemen of the Flying Squad reconstructed the identikit of the young man, later recognized by the victims in some photographs.

Once enough clues were gathered, the officers then tracked down the 29-year-old, snapping the handcuffs on his wrists.

The man is now locked up in the Bancali prison, available to the judicial authorities.
