These are crucial hours for the investigation opened by the Tempio Pausania Prosecutor's Office into the death of Mauro Zuncheddu , the 23-year-old who died of illness on Monday morning in the hospital of the Gallura town.
The magistrates are leaning toward ordering an autopsy, and the medical examiners who will assess the boy's cause of death could be identified as early as tomorrow. The lawyers representing Mauro Zuncheddu's family, Salvatore Deiana and Andrea Maurelli, have filed a formal request requesting an autopsy . The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has acquired information and medical documentation.

The previous evening, he had been examined in the emergency room in Tempio and advised to immediately undergo all tests for the chest pains he was complaining of.
According to medical records, the patient tested positive for pneumonia (chest CT scan), was admitted to the hospital, and never left Tempio . Treatment was reportedly effective, but on Monday morning, Mauro Zuncheddu was struck by an incurable illness (referred to as a massive pulmonary embolism).
