A small boat carrying 11 migrants was located by a Guardia di Finanza patrol boat while attempting to reach the coast of southern Sardinia.

The vessel, which had set sail from the coast of North Africa and was reached by a Guardia di Finanza patrol boat about 12 miles from Isola del Toro, off the southwest coast of Sardinia, carried eight men, two women, and a baby a few months old.

The migrants were transported to the port of Sant'Antioco and then transferred to the First Reception Center in Monastir (Cagliari). The police and Carabinieri were also on site.
