The Keja brewery toasts on Spanish soil. Calmedia beer, one of the specialties of the Bari Sardo brewery , took second place in the Pacific beer category at the Barcelona beer challenge, one of the main competitions for craft beer on the European scene. There were 200 breweries competing, coming from all over the Old Continent with over 1,200 beers on display.

«It is an achievement that makes us happy and makes us proud», says Marco Pisanu , the owner of the brewery which develops its production in a warehouse in the industrial area of Bari Sardo and is equipped with a 6 hectoliter production plant with 70 liters of cellar. «If there were any need - continues the company administrator - the result achieved in Catalonia gives us a greater injection of confidence to continue with our work».

Calmedia is an India Pale Lager, a pale beer characterized by an initial bitter taste that leaves room for sweetness and the final dryness typical of bottom-fermenting yeasts. The second prize of the Keja brewery confirms the excellent Sardinian and Italian tradition in the production of craft beers . 9 Sardinian breweries were awarded with 14 medals overall . There are currently 4 beers marketed by Keja: in addition to Calmedia, Ruffia (Helles), Theria (American Pale Ale) and Trevessa (American Ipa) are on the market from Bari Sardo (also beyond the Tyrrhenian Sea).
