Moments of great apprehension Saturday afternoon in a villa in Sa Marina, in Bari Sardo. A three-year-old child, originally from Rome, accidentally ingested a small glass of detergent.

The alarm was raised around 5:30 pm and the 118 operations centre in Sassari sent ambulance rescuers to the scene.

Given the dynamics of the event and the urgency of intervening in a facility suitable for the treatment of critical pediatric situations, the control center also alerted the Areus helicopter that took off from the Elmas base. In the meantime, at the request of family members and ambulance rescuers, the little boy regurgitated the ingested substance, causing the great fear to subside.

However, although the child, who remained alert and conscious, had shed much of the substance, the doctor on duty on Echo Lima 3 ordered his transfer to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari. Here the little patient, in Ogliastra to spend a holiday with his family, was taken care of by the medical staff who carried out all the necessary treatments.
