A dairy factory in Guspini and the machinery inside it were confiscated by the Finance Police of the Provincial Command of Cagliari, by order of the Attorney General of the Court of Appeal, as the final act of the investigation that began in 2012 and centred on the millionaire collapse of a joint-stock company that had gone bankrupt two years earlier.

The value of the plant is approximately 1.5 million euros, which now – the investigators explain – «can be definitively transferred to state-owned assets and, therefore, used by the community for social purposes».

The investigations that began over ten years ago had led to the application of personal precautionary measures against four people, accused of fraudulent bankruptcy and aggravated fraud against credit institutions, the Regional Agency for Agricultural Disbursements and the Revenue Agency for an amount of over 4.1 million euros.

The confiscated dairy had already been seized, as the judge deemed it to be the result of the proceeds of the illegal activity carried out.

"The Guardia di Finanza of Cagliari, in fact, had reconstructed the huge financial resources that the de facto administrator of the company and promoter of the complex fraud, with the collaboration of his son, daughter-in-law and another front man, had illicitly obtained through the falsification of balance sheets and the issuing of invoices for non-existent transactions for approximately 2.4 million euros with the aim of fictitiously increasing the economic capacity of the company, sums then diverted for personal purposes and for the construction of the aforementioned dairy, thus causing the bankruptcy of the company, simulating, in the meantime, the theft of all the accounting and fiscal documentation, and, consequently, causing its bankruptcy", the investigators reconstruct.

Following the conviction issued by the Court of Appeal of Cagliari against the main defendant for fraudulent bankruptcy and aggravated fraud, which became definitive in July 2024, the Finance Police then executed the confiscation decree of the Guspini industrial plant, with an operation that was christened with the name of “Antichi Sapori”.
