There is no shortage of rude and reckless people even in the Asinara National Park , one of the most beautiful and delicate flora and fauna oases in Europe, an ecosystem that is difficult to protect, especially when the rules are not respected.

Even in a sensational way, as evidenced by what happened on the beach of Spalmatore, on the Fornelli side, in the southern part of the island, where several visitors (most likely tourists) have found nothing better than running around and making evolutions, with their cross bike, in the precious beach . This is absolutely forbidden by the Park regulations, but which also goes against the rules of common sense and good manners.

Vittorio Gazale , director of the park and a great expert in environmental matters, is decidedly disappointed. "Sometimes I don't know if certain facts are dictated by stupidity or by the desire to transgress - he explains -. In any case they are irresponsible behaviors, since there is a dirt bike path nearby. On the Spalmatore beach - he continues - it also grows an endemic plant of great value, which must absolutely be preserved: the Anchusa Crispa, recognizable by its beautiful flowers. Certain facts risk making it disappear and compromising everything, including our efforts to protect the island and those of the vast majority of visitors who have an irreproachable and correct behavior ".

The Forestry Corps is investigating the Spalmatore affair to trace the offenders.
