The person responsible for the arson attack and the aggravated threats addressed to the commander of the Campuomu forest station was sentenced.

On the evening of 6 April 2014, the flames completely destroyed the station commander's car that was parked in the inner courtyard in Maidopis - Sette Fratelli, and, near the car, on a wall, a threatening letter was found, with heavy threats, and a cartridge loaded with buckshot.

Investigations by the Investigation Unit of the Inspectorate Service were immediately carried out, including through various house searches, environmental and telephone wiretapping. The name of MR, 38 years old from Burcei, then emerged, who had been indicted for damage and threats to a public official. The motive for the gesture was to be attributed to the activity carried out by the commander and, in particular, to the investigations in which he was engaged to identify the perpetrators of forest fire crimes. The aim of the attack was to remove the commander of the department from the territory and therefore put a stop to the investigation and obstacle to the exercise of criminal activities.

MR has now been sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
