New record in Samatzai: after Pierina Sanna and Mario Corongiu, 103 and 101 years old respectively, the town welcomes another centenarian, Antonina Tocco .

Originally from Samatzai, the woman now lives in the Siurgus Donigala retirement home where she reads many books and newspapers.

Tzia Antonina was among the leading seamstresses in the country, she taught the art of sewing to most of the women of Samatzai .

Among the many secrets of longevity, according to her two nieces Anna and Lorena Ollosu, are the long walks she took every day : "Aunt loved taking very long walks in the countryside, and she was always a sunny and smiling woman, she hardly got angry" say the nieces.
