The sea is consuming the beach of Punta Negra and downstream the surface waters are taking care of taking away the little sand left.
The small beach nestled on the coast of Fertilia is at the center of a rescue plan launched by the centre-right council on the proposal of the Environment Councilor Andrea Montis . The executive has given a mandate to the offices to proceed "with every action and intervention deemed functional and necessary for the contrast and mitigation of erosion phenomena", reads a note from the Administration.
The objective is to favor the restoration , at least partially, of the naturalness of the Punta Negra beach. In detail, we will proceed with the implementation of naturalistic engineering interventions for the redevelopment of the natural habitats of the dune system , with obligatory routes for bathers and physical barriers to protect the plant species. Finally, the concrete flooring present in the parking lot will be removed, in order to restore permeability to the ground.
