"In the heart of Alghero, in Largo Asinara, precisely in Via Corsica, a camp has developed that arouses concern and indignation . This situation, which has been going on for some time, strikes the dignity of those who live there and undermines the decorum of the city."

The Lega municipal councilor and regional coordinator of the party, Michele Pais, denounces the shanty town that has sprung up in the Pietraia neighborhood, in the immediate vicinity of a school.

"The encampment is an indelible stain on the beauty and civilization of Alghero, which does not deserve it," says Pais, also admitting that "the housing problem is very serious in Alghero, with many fellow citizens who cannot afford one. Who ask for help and assistance, often without receiving it. But this does not mean they break the law or organize themselves into encampments. We need a "Marshall Plan" for the right to housing for the people of Alghero, with concrete actions to build public housing and facilitate controlled rents . As the opposition, we have filed an urgent Order of the Day on the issue, to offer concrete solutions that use fiscal levers and incentives to favor rentals for residential use."

In the meantime, however, Pais is asking for the camp to be cleared, making the minors safe.
