"The Cinquestelle Movement will not participate in Iglesias' electoral competition". This was stated by the regional coordinator and M5S senator Ettore Licheri in Cagliari, on the sidelines of a CGIL conference on differentiated autonomy "as a multiplier of territorial inequalities and delays".

In Iglesias, where votes will be held on 28 and 29 May, the three municipal councilors of the M5S Federico Garau, Francesca Tronci and Bruna Moi announced yesterday that they will join, with a civic list, the civic coalition led by Giuseppe Pes, the candidate chosen by all the centre-right forces except the Brothers of Italy.

«Those of the three councilors – Licheri specified today – are personal initiatives with which the M5S has nothing to do. The M5S believes that in Iglesias none of the candidates in the field embodies the values of the movement, nor the idea of the new policy that the M5S is looking for».
