Concern is growing for the fate of Ciriaco Gusai, the 69-year-old farmer who disappeared Sunday evening in the Siligo countryside. He left his sheepfold at 5:30 PM two days ago and hasn't been heard from since.
The elderly man's nephew is raising alarm, describing the clothing he wore when he left the house and reporting that he was most likely carrying a walking stick. The elderly man owns a farm that combines crops and livestock farming, located in the Monte Santu area of Siligo.
The search resumed this morning, involving the Carabinieri, Alpine Rescue, and Barracelli units under the direction of the Prefecture. Drones equipped with thermal imaging cameras are also being used near the sheepfold, in the Sa Serra da Sa Chessa area.
The mayor of Siligo, Giovanni Porcheddu, reports that Gusai is known as a "person of integrity and a hard worker."
