Carabinieri forces are targeting young gangs in Sassari. A precautionary custody order was executed on March 25th against two underage students, held responsible for the crimes of aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated extortion, domestic violence, and threats against their peers.
The order, issued by the Juvenile Court, stems from an investigation into a robbery on Via Manno on February 22, 2026, allegedly perpetrated by the two young men. The suspects had forcibly stolen a well-known designer hat from a boy their age after threatening him. From this incident, the Carabinieri officers, following their investigation, ascertained the existence and operation of a youth gang that had been targeting other young men their age for some time.
According to evidence from witnesses and surveillance footage, the same two teenagers were involved in a similar incident on January 9th. On a bus on Via Tavolara, they attempted to extort a small sum of money from another minor. Failing to do so, they stole his shoes and unsuccessfully attempted to sell them to other teenagers.
Not satisfied, they also attempted to steal his jacket, eventually stealing a box of chocolates. This behavior occurred in conjunction with two other youths, both under 14 and therefore not chargeable. One of the minors under investigation was taken to a youth shelter, where he was required to remain there and be placed in an educational program, while the other youth was placed under house arrest.
