"Sardinia to browse" is the event strongly desired and realized thanks to the collaboration between the I Fenicotteri Shopping Center , the La Zattera Publishing House and the Giunti al Punto bookshop located inside the Gallery. The project was born in the gallery of the I Fenicotteri Shopping Center, one of the shopping centers of the Gallerie Sardegna brand, which identifies the centers managed in Sardinia by the real estate development and services company Nhood .
Creating living spaces for people's physical and mental well-being is the first objective of a manager like Nhood, whose "people first" orientation is perceptible in the projects it supports inside and outside the Shopping Centers throughout the portfolio. Culture is part of this active action in favor of the communities in which Nhood operates, it is a precious asset, a heritage for future generations towards which there is a deep sense of responsibility.
Knowledge and the creation of moments of pleasure, such as those brought about by reading, are opportunities to develop emotional intelligence.
Nhood's goal is to convey these values at 360 degrees even in leisure and entertainment environments such as a shopping centre.
This is where «Sardinia to browse» starts, a program spread over three days in which three Sardinian authors will present their books.
Saturday 10 June the I Fenicotteri Shopping Center will act as a stage for the presentation of the book "Il sequestro di un bambino" by Luca Locci, Saturday 17 June it will be the turn of the book "Barsantropé" by Antonello Deidda, finally "Chistionas su casteddaiu? Do you speak Casteddaiu?” by Marcello Cocco will be presented on Sunday 18 June.
All appointments are scheduled for 18:00.
A unique opportunity for reading enthusiasts, who will be able to get to know the authors and have their own copy signed.
With the «Sardinia to browse» initiative, the Giunti al Punto bookstore and the I Fenicotteri shopping center are committed to enhancing Sardinian literature, promoting it and giving it the role of protagonist during an event dedicated to enthusiasts and others.
The three books, published by La Zattera , which make up the mosaic of «Sardinia to browse», the event that for two consecutive weekends will be staged at the I Fenicotteri Shopping Center are three true stories.
"The kidnapping of a child" and "Barsantrope" tell of crimes that took place two years later in Sardinia.
On 24 June 1978 a child, Luca Locci, was kidnapped in the Macomer countryside and then returned home 93 days later. In December 1976 in Cagliari a boy was killed on the street by the police. The first is a painful testimony of one of the kidnappings in Sardinia, frequent in those years. The second traces the birth of the infamous Is Mirrionis gang.
Definitely more playful and light tones for the third book, "Chistionas su casteddaiu", a journey through mottos and sayings of the Cagliari tradition.
“It is not fair that only we can enjoy this paradise called Cagliari. My dream is to help everyone get to know and love the most toga city in the world” says Marcello Cocco, author of the book “Chistionas su casteddaiu? Do you speak Casteddaiu?”.
“As a publisher, I can only be proud to be involved. Good Culture to all”, says Alessandro Cocco Editore of La Zattera.
"For us, culture represents a fundamental element for the aggregation of a community and we believe in its nature as an instrument of social cohesion and inclusion" - declares Nadia Mombelli Shopping Center Manager of the Nhood shopping centers in Sardinia. “Even through the schedule of “Sardinia to browse” we have taken on the responsibility of promoting it through a dense series of initiatives that enhance not only reading but also the territory and the (re)discovery of its heritage”.
