The Sardinia Region approves the Technical Budget (22 votes from the majority against 13 from the opposition) and for 2024 an allocation of approximately 10 billion and 600 million is expected, for 2025, however, approximately 10 billion and 200 million, and for finally, 2026 of approximately 9 billion and 600 million.
The five-article law, which was intended to be approved quickly as a result of an agreement between the political forces aimed at avoiding the use of the provisional exercise, took longer than expected. The stalemate arose with the arrival of an amendment presented by the Council on the single sector of local authorities. The measure is intended to standardize the bargaining of local authorities with the regional one in such a way as to eliminate the disparity in treatment and inequality between public employees of local authorities and regional administration who carry out tasks at the same level.
A measure that has long been requested by public employees and by all the political forces of the assembly in a transversal manner and announced several times by the majority to deal with the phenomenon of personnel transfers, with mobility procedures between entities, and with competitions, in favor of the more economically attractive regional system.
«With this latest Budget we avoid the provisional exercise and allow Sardinia to continue the virtuous path that has characterized the public accounts and the development of our Island during the legislature», said President Christian Solinas. «After these five years of government characterized by critical issues and unpredictable events such as the pandemic and the resulting crisis, thanks to the measures implemented by the Region to support the system, Sardinia can look to the future with greater serenity and optimism», he concluded.
The budget councilor, Giuseppe Fasolino, recalled some elements such as commitment, sense of responsibility and unity of purpose of the council: «Thanks to the commitment made in recent years and the full sharing of the actions to be implemented for the good of the Sardinia and the Sardinians the last budget law of the legislature ends. This is a measure that confirms what has been started and resumes the allocations of previous measures but which certainly leaves accounts in order and measures aimed at guaranteeing future and lasting development of the Sardinian economy".
«Today finally marks a path of justice and equity – underlined Aldo Salaris, councilor for public bodies -. With 52 million euros we will begin the creation of the single sector that has been missing since 2006, with the aim of harmonizing the economic and legal treatment of local authority employees with that of regional system personnel."
