Sardinia also in the front row in Parma in defense of Made in Italy food and health. A large procession crossed the streets and squares of the Emilian city (one of the capitals of Italian agri-food), led by national president Ettore Prandini and general secretary Vincenzo Gesmundo . The demonstration ended with a sit-in in front of the headquarters of EFSA, the European Food Safety Agency, which has the task of evaluating the placing on the market of new foods.
"In Sardinia we produce unique excellences in the world, the fruit of our history and our traditions. We cannot accept that our agricultural model is endangered by artificial foods without adequate clinical studies on their safety", said Battista Cualbu , president of Coldiretti Sardinia, reiterating the need to defend the sector from the pressure of multinationals and lobbies.
Numerous Sardinian mayors also participated in the mobilization, starting with those of municipalities with a strong agricultural and pastoral vocation, direct witnesses of the difficulties that entrepreneurs in the sector face on a daily basis.
"In the square today there is an entire agricultural world that is not asking for favors, but respect and protection for a strategic sector. Sardinia is present in Parma because we know how much our agriculture is already put to the test by bureaucracy, market crises and climate change. We cannot allow other problems to be added", added Luca Saba , director of Coldiretti Sardinia.
The mobilization is also supported by the digital campaign #facciamoluce, which aims to raise awareness among consumers about the risks of synthetic food and to promote conscious eating, rooted in the Italian agricultural tradition. A clear and strong message that wants to reach Brussels from Sardinia: defending natural food means defending the future of agricultural businesses, the well-being of consumers and the identity of our territory.
