“The first data for July also confirm the trend that emerged in June, with a significant increase compared to 2021 , the year of slow recovery of tourism towards Sardinia , and a consolidation of the record data of 2019 . The Italian market remains a guarantee, while the foreign market appears to be on the rise. We expect an important growth in the number of tourists ”.
This is the comment of the governor Christian Solinas to the new, positive data on the tourist season in the island.
"We are - explains Solinas - the Region that has invested the most resources to support businesses, including tourism, and we will see a recovery of the entire sector, with a positive impact on the entire economy of our island ".
THE NUMBERS - From 1 to 10 July, according to data provided by the Port System Authority of the Sardinian Sea, 184,250 arrivals were recorded in Sardinian ports , an increase of 21.69% compared to the same period of 2021, an increase (+ 11.34%) also compared to 2019. While, up to Sunday 17 July, over 410 thousand passengers arrived at the three island airports , including scheduled and non-scheduled flights, with an increase of over 34% compared to 2021 and by almost 1% compared to 2019, despite the difficulties that have occurred in air transport in recent weeks.
“For Sardinian tour operators it will be a considerable breath of fresh air - says the regional councilor for tourism, Gianni Chessa - The Region has put in place many tools and funding to differentiate the tourist offer, as well as to lengthen the summer season. After July and August, which always record exceptional numbers , even the month of September could hold interesting surprises in terms of attendance ".
