Marco Lanna is the new president of Sampdoria, replacing Massimo Ferrero, recently arrested for bankruptcy.

The decision came last night during the shareholders' meeting: 53 years old, Lanna was defender of Sampdoria for many years where he grew up in the youth sector. He made 26 appearances in 1990-91, making him one of the most important players in the Scudetto year. In 1993 he moved to Roma, then his return to Sampdoria in 2002 to help the Sampdoria who were in B. With the Ligurian shirt he boasts 133 appearances.

"It is a great joy and a very strong emotion, my heart has always been Sampdoria", the former defender confessed to his friends.

The shareholders' meeting also defined the new board of directors where the presence of Antonio Romei stands out, the lawyer alongside Ferrero since the beginning of the Dorian adventure before being dismissed by the Roman entrepreneur in February 2021 when Romei was deputy chairman and member of the board of directors. Romei would have the task of personally following the entire process that will lead to the sale of the company.

The other members of the board of directors: Gianni Panconi, partner of Ernst & Young, former Sampdoria consultant and Sampdoria fan and the club's operating director, Alberto Bosco.

Now the hunt for the buyer is on for Sampdoria. At the moment there are a couple of people who have what it takes to sit around a table to discuss the price. Which could be around 25 million euros. Plus debts, around 80 million.
