The event organized by the cultural-musical association Insieme Vocale Nova Euphonia returns with the aim of enhancing the monumental, archaeological and landscape heritage of the Province of Sassari through music and other artistic expressions. The ancient Romanesque church of San Michele di Plaiano in Sassari will host the "Holy Concert" on Saturday at 7.30 pm. Entrance is free.

The evening will feature Vincenzo Cossu's choirs which will do the honors of the house during the Festival, welcoming the public and the guest artists of each stage with music. For this important preview, the Nova Euphonia Vocal Ensemble and the city of Sassari student choir will present for the first time ever a "Sacred Concert" entirely dedicated to sacred and spiritual music and a new composition by Maestro Cossu entitled "Shemà Israel", dedicated to the victims of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

The concert lineup also includes pieces by composers specializing in film music such as Morricone, John Williams, Vangelis and Debney, compositions by classical authors such as Palestrina, Mozart and Gasparin, and traditional African, Sardinian and gospel & spiritual songs.

The choirs will be accompanied by musicians Walter Masala on piano, Gabriele Griva on guitar, Irinel Pavaloaia on flute and Gabriele Serra on percussion.
