All easy for Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian who entered the top ten on Monday, engaged on the Centre Court of the Foro Italico for his debut in the second round of the Internazionali d'Italia against the Finn Otto Virtanen, won his match in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2 in just under an hour and a half.
He will face the American Brandon Nakashima, n.29 ATP. «You could see the emotion of returning to the court in Rome, when you have so much desire to do well it is not easy. I tried to prepare everything in the best way. It was a solid match, I did what I had to and I am happy», Musetti's words at the end of the match.
Great performance by Francesco Passaro: the world number 101 defeated a dull Dimitrov (ATP number 15) 7-5, 6-3 and will face the Russian Khachanov in the third round.
Carlos Alcaraz also had an easy debut, defeating Lajovic with a double 6-3.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the debut of the world number 1 Jannik Sinner, returning after three months of stoppage for the Clostebol case. The Italian will challenge the Argentine clay court player Mariano Navone, who in the first round defeated the young Sicilian promise Federico Cinà.
