The postponed Olympic stadium in Rome is practically not played. Coldly hit both at the start of the match and in the second half, Cagliari lost to Roma: it ended 4-0 and the same impression as the first leg remained in the eyes (1-4). Two teams from two different categories. Very few positive notes for the rossoblù, perhaps among these the debut of the Colombian defender Mina who cancels out Lukaku and commands the defense with the attitude of a leader.

First half

Cagliari aims to protect themselves and starts with a three-man defense plus two full-backs but Ranieri's wall collapses after 1'02”. Corner obtained by El Shaarawi, Petagna doesn't hold the ball at the near post and Pellegrini scores: Roma ahead. Immediate reply but Dossena heads it wide.

In the 9th, Angeliño crosses from the left, Obert and Azzi look at each other, Cristante enters the area and hits the post on the fly from three metres. Every time the ball is at Roma's feet, Cagliari risks: El Shaarawi volleys but isn't precise.

The rossoblù try to regroup, Lapadula struggles to enter the match, Petagna tries to head it in the 19th without being dangerous.

In the 23rd minute, however, the rossoblù defense goes haywire: smooth by Obert, spread by Cristante from right to left, where the Pharaoh is once again the protagonist: tunnel to Zappa, Lukaku makes a pass and Dybala scores the second goal from a few steps away. In the 37th minute Dybala tries again but misses the target. Shortly afterwards Mina puts Lukaku offside and he scores a useless goal. After 42 minutes Lapadula finally shakes himself: a left foot that involves Rui Patricio. In the 44th minute Lapadula again comes into contact with Llorente in the area: a penalty that the VAR rightly cancels. It ends 2-0 and Cagliari doesn't seem to be doing too badly.

Second half

Ranieri confirms the starting eleven and also starts well. In the 4th, however, Mina closes in the corner on Cristante launched into the net and on the corner Petagna clumsily blocks with his hand: penalty. Dybala goes and closes the match in the 6th. In the 14th minute, yet another corner and this time it's Hujsen's turn to celebrate, with his head undisturbed, his first goal in Serie A: 4-0. Ranieri changes: Viola, Gaetano and Luvumbo inside, Prati, Azzi and Dossena outside to play for everything (i.e. at least save face). Then Wieteska for a tired Mina and Di Pardo for an exhausted Nandez. From here onwards there is little to report: perhaps a foul by Luvumbo on Karsdorp which the referee and VAR did not judge to be a red card (it would have been further damage to Cagliari who will host Lazio on Saturday) and a goal by Bove disallowed for offside.
