Prices are out of control . From fuel to fruit and vegetables, price increases are rippling : +25% on fresh produce, up to +20% on energy. This is the alarm raised yesterday by Confcommercio Sud Sardegna , joined by Adiconsum , which points the finger at "the commercial chain, which sits halfway between producers and buyers: speculation too often comes from there," says regional president Giorgio Vargiu.

A 10% increase in the price of bread is also expected starting next week . A domino effect that won't stop there: increases are also expected for bars and restaurants. The result will be that many will have to give up.

And the most critical issue remains that of fuel , with direct effects on the entire supply chain and a knock-on effect that risks severely impacting the entire local economic system.

The call is therefore for " urgent action to contain energy costs and support household purchasing power, before the decline in consumption becomes structural." But it also calls for greater controls on the supply chain and on those who "illegitimately and unduly" continue to "divert citizens' pockets."
