Two and a half months after the Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino , the organizers of Rassinaby Racing are ready to reveal the significant innovations that, from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October, will characterize a 21st edition that promises to be full of emotions. After the excellent results recorded in previous years, also in 2024 the event will be able to boast the triple tricolor title, which will make the race based in Berchidda still valid for the Italian Rally Terra Championship, for the Italian Historic Rally Terra and for the Italian Cross Country Ssv. The modern and historic Rally will also be valid for the respective Regional Championships Delegation Sardinia Aci Sport.


As in 2023, the logistical base of the event will be Berchidda , which will host the start, finish, service park, checks, race direction and press room. The substantial changes concern the route, which is not completely changed, but has seen considerable changes. Departure at 1.30 pm on Friday 25 October from Piazza del Popolo, which will also host the finish and awards ceremony at 3 pm on Saturday 25. The Shakedown and the Qualifying stage, introduced this year in the federal regulations, will be held in the Berchidda area, along a stretch of road never used before and on which changes are currently being made to widen the carriageway. The route, which is almost 80 timed kilometres, includes three special stages to be repeated twice. On Friday, the double passage on the new entry Tula-Erula is scheduled, which will be over 11 kilometres long.
"The first test will be a first for us. We will take part of the route of the Tula special of the Rally Italia Sardegna, the Italian round of the WRC World Championship, but we will apply several changes. Of this difficult special, we will use the most spectacular section, but at the same time the one with the best surface", specifies the president of Rassinaby Racing Pietro Calvia. The new Tula-Erula test does not retire any of the specials used last year. "We decided to run the Tula test on Friday and to include in the program of the second day what was previously our opening special, the Filigosu. This time, however, the Oschiri special will be combined with the Pattada test, thus creating a special of 20 kilometers in length. I believe that this will prove to be the pearl of the Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino 2024, a 20-kilometer test is no joke", added Calvia.
Saturday 26th, in addition to the double passage on the Pattada-Oschiri special, also includes the double lap on the Alà dei Sardi-Buddusò, which will take the competitors to another great classic of the area, Monte Lerno, this time along a route of almost 7 kilometers, slightly shortened compared to last year's.
"A few weeks ago we had the inspection of the federal supervisor, who carried out the inspection of the route. And now we continue the work started several months ago to be ready for the appointment. The new date, which compared to the usual mid-September will see us compete at the end of October, is ideal: we avoid the clash with the grape harvest, since we are the land of Vermentino, and we do not run into the transport problems typical of the high season", commented the organizer Pietro Calvia.

"I had already stated that we are aiming for the Ciar. Personally, I can say that an Italian Absolute Championship would also need races on dirt, so, if necessary, we are there. I am happy with the innovations introduced on the route and the work that the association is carrying out. Also this year the sports part will be accompanied by events to promote the territory, in the coming weeks we will reveal the details", concludes Calvia.
