As already anticipated by the projections , Renato Schifani wins the regional elections in Sicily and will be the new governor supported by the center-right. It got about 40 percent of the votes and over a dozen points. In any case, despite the slow scrutiny, he has a margin that cannot be filled by Cateno De Luca.

Not good results for the center-left with candidate Caterina Chinnici around 15%, just behind Nuccio Di Paola (M5s). At the moment, M5s, FdI and Cateno De Luca contend the primacy, as a list, but to get a clear picture we will have to wait for the definitive results. The center-right, however, should have a majority in the Sicilian Assembly.

" A victory for the entire center-right , all parties will exceed the 5% threshold - comments Schifani - I'm happy because there will be stability. A fairly qualified majority will strengthen the government's action also because everyone will have equal dignity , beyond the 'amount of consensus that will certainly affect the composition of the junta, but I repeat that it will be the governance of competences ".

Meanwhile, De Luca has already admitted defeat: " I lost, but I think the Sicilians didn't win ," he said.

And the Pd secretary of Palermo, Rosario Filoramo, has announced that he will leave the leadership of the party, disappointed by Di Paola's fourth place but reassured by the excellent result of the list for the national teams in single-member constituencies, placing first on the island, and electing two parliamentarians: Davide Aiello in the Chamber and Dolores Bevilacqua in the Senate.

The "South calls North" list of Cateno De Luca, Mayor of Italy, also wins two parliamentarians in the uninominal, which places Dafne Musolino and Francesco Gallo in Rome. Fourteen out of 18 colleges that go to the center-right but the en plein fails.

Among the big names are the former minister Stefania Prestigiacomo (Fi), the vice president of the Senate of Fi Gabriella Giammanco, Bobo Craxi (Psi), the former undersecretary of the M5s who ran for the progressive primaries Barbara Floridia, the deputy of Fi Matilde Siracusano. Instead, the candidate of the center-right coalition Calogero Pisano was elected to the Chamber, in the single-member constituency of Agrigento. Finally, ticket to the Senate for Nello Musumeci.
