With a seventy kilometre breakaway, a super Eros Piras wins the title of regional medium distance champion.

The third edition of the FCI "Officina Formaensa Autronica" trophy took place today in Tertenia, valid as a test of the regional medium-distance championship and organized by Asd Bike and Fitness Tertenia. A 104-kilometer race with almost 2000 meters of altitude difference. Departure and arrival in Tertenia with passages in Perdasdefogu, Jerzu, the Ulassai Art station and again Perdasdefogu.

The Donori Bike representative obtained his thirteenth seal of the season. «It went well», says Piras. «I really wanted to win the Sardinian medium-distance championship. When I got to Perdasdefogu I pulled away and managed to get away. I then did seventy kilometers of solo escape. A fairly demanding race. After the first climb we were down to about twenty riders. Today I felt good and I tried to make a selection right from the start. On the second climb of the day I succeeded by going straight to the finish line. Today's successes are thirteen. I thank my team that, like every year, supports me so much for these races. Next goal? Next week I should have participated in the gravel world championships but for personal reasons I am forced to give up. I will participate in the last stage of the Sardinia Cup in Sinnai. I will do the marathon. I am in the running for the title». «I will try – he concludes – to honor the event by doing my best».

Piras crossed the finish line in two hours and fifty minutes with an impressive average speed of over 35 kilometers per hour. A great performance. The first group in pursuit was almost five minutes behind. In second place was Paolo Morbiato (Acido Lattico) and third Andrea Pisanu (Ciclo Club Antonio Manca). Following were Umberto Parente (Sc Cagliari), Luca Dessì (Karel Sport), Fabrizio Farci (Monreal Bike), Matteo Rosa (Sc Pattada), Maurizio Olla (Karel Sport), Matteo Mascia (Sc Monteponi) and Paolo Murroni (Masbike). "I'm happy with the performance," says Dessì of Karel. "It was a tough race. Congratulations to Piras who made the difference."

Maurizio Olla, winner of the last edition: «A new route. Always spectacular to run in these fantastic places. Excellent organization».
