"Water mains failure, leaving the area between Viale Diaz and Via Campidano dry."

«Dear Union,

As a resident of the area, I am writing this letter to report yet another water service outage in the Bonaria area, along Viale Diaz, Via Campidano, and surrounding streets.

Today, around lunchtime, the water service was interrupted and - as of yet - no one has intervened on site to restore the service.

When contacted by Abbanoa's fault reporting service, the fault was apparently caused by the contractor for the work underway along Viale Diaz, and—according to the operator contacted—"it is currently impossible to determine when service will be restored." In reality, as mentioned, no operator dedicated to the necessary work was seen during the evening, while the flooding caused by the damage is visible (see attached photos).

This is not the first time construction work on Viale Diaz has caused water service interruptions due to damage to the network: in the last two months, this phenomenon occurred on July 8th, July 9th, and July 16th.
This is an unsustainable situation both for the needs of residents (including the elderly, disabled, and children) and for restaurant businesses. It is unacceptable that those responsible for the damage in question would allow themselves the privilege of postponing repairs. Abbanoa's negligence is also unacceptable, as it should ensure service through emergency response in situations like the one being described. This is unfortunately not a new inconvenience, given that even before the light rail work was underway, Abbanoa's sudden interruptions to water service were frequent and unannounced in recent years. This unsustainable situation makes legal action to protect the rights and dignity of residents indispensable and urgent.
