"Traumatology in Rugby": A national discussion among specialists in Cagliari

"Traumatology in Rugby" : an in-depth look at the main trauma and rehabilitation issues related to rugby will be the focus of the scientific conference scheduled for Saturday, June 6th in the Atza Hall of Arnas Brotzu in Cagliari.
The congress, chaired by Dr. Giuseppe Dessì , with Dr. Emanuele Cabras as scientific director, will bring together orthopedists, sports doctors, physiatrists, physiotherapists, athletic trainers, coaches and healthcare professionals from all over Sardinia and the national scene .
The initiative aims to provide a multidisciplinary forum for discussion on athlete health, addressing the most common rugby injuries, modern recovery protocols, and injury prevention strategies in a practical and evidence-based manner. Current topics will be addressed throughout the day, including: knee, shoulder, and hand injuries; head trauma and concussion; rehabilitation and return to performance; the use of braces, injection therapies, and pulsed electromagnetic fields; pharmacological pain management; and nutrition and supplementation for rugby athletes.
Guests and speakers include numerous specialists in orthopedics and sports medicine, along with coaches and key figures in Italian rugby. The opening interview will be with Paolo Vaccari, former player of the Italian national team and current vice president of the Italian Rugby Federation, a historic figure in the national rugby movement. The final roundtable discussion will focus on the future of sport in Sardinia, focusing on the new Cagliari stadium, the 2032 European Championships, and the prospects for a possible 2035 Rugby World Cup.
The event is ECM accredited for 100 participants belonging to the disciplines of medical surgeons and specialists, with 7 training credits recognized by the National ECM System.
The conference is sponsored by leading scientific and sporting organizations, including the Italian Rugby Federation, the Order of Surgeons and Dentists of the Province of Cagliari, SoSOT, and other national and international scientific societies.
