Punish obscene acts in a public place with prison.
This is what is foreseen in a draft law by the Brothers of Italy presented with Deputy Minister Edmondo Cirielli, the first signatory, with the aim of amending the penal code to restore more severe penalties for this type of offence.
It would be a return to the past, given that the Renzi government (2014-2016) had decriminalized the crime by only providing for penalties of up to 30 thousand euros.
The text highlights the need to "fight in a more adequate way the moral degradation that afflicts our community" and to "strengthen the safety of citizens", while protecting "public morality and morality".
The proposal is already causing discussion. Majority sources, however, explain that it was presented before the formation of the government and therefore "is not part of the government's agenda" .
