In-person casting has begun to search for actresses, actors, extras, extras and technical-artistic workers for the film "Goodbye Mai", written and directed by the Cagliari-born director Marco Oppo.
"Goodbye Mai" is an ambitious project, supported by many public and private associations and sponsors, to shine the spotlight on the delicate topic of terminal childhood and youth pathology , focusing in particular on the unique and indissoluble bond that is created between parents and children during and after the illness.
The film draws inspiration from true stories, such as that of Lorenzo, a child suffering from neuroblastoma. Devastated by the news, her young mother will do everything to make her days in hospital "magical and fantastic". «In their natural inclination to play, children create their own fantasy world even in a hospital room, they invent fabulous and imaginary characters and situations – explains Oppo -. A strong theme, made up of loneliness, pain, hope and love, too often guiltily and sadly ignored. A topic that is rarely talked about, a reality that is often unknown to most people."
The feature film is produced by Moon Arts, an association active in the organization of festivals and the production of audiovisuals. Marco Oppo, filmmaker and producer from Cagliari, is the artistic director. Filming of "Goodbye Mai" is scheduled for 2025.
