"Dear Union,

as we all know on 3 and 4 October in Italy (10 and 11 October in Sardinia), there will be administrative elections for the renewal of some municipalities. As in every election, the main Italian transport companies, from trains to ships to planes, offer discounts on the ticket used to go to the polling station.

Also this year the national flag carrier, as in the past for all electoral and referendum consultations, renewed the agreement stipulated with the Ministry of the Interior which aims to facilitate the exercise of the right to vote by offering a discount on the ticket purchased. to go to the seat of residence. Too bad that this discount is applicable to all domestic flights except those directed to Sardinia, provided for by territorial continuity.

This exclusion has been going on for several years now, in which Sardinians are denied the right to vote by being excluded a priori, unlike the rest of Italian citizens who, in addition to enjoying an easier right to mobility than us islanders, you will find these additional benefits. I find it absurd that after years and years, no one intervenes against this authentic discrimination on the part of the Region and the Ministry who remain silent in the face of these facts. If having more or less discounted flights just because you live on an island means not being able to exercise other rights such as flying, it is clear that territorial continuity does not work ".
