"A Fairytale Forest": Pau, the project for the management and valorization of the territory is underway

The project for the management and enhancement of the territory through the art forms of “Un Bosco da Fiaba” (A Fairytale Forest) is starting in Pau . An art journey in nature, born from an idea of the Cultural Association “Menabò” and the collaboration of the municipal administration, led by Alessia Valente.
Born in 2022, the boom arrived in 2024. A path about 3 kilometers long, in which visitors will find 12 works created by artists of national origin and on the occasion of community workshops.
"The territorial enhancement project - the mayor comments - has become a point of reference for Pau that has allowed us to enhance the territory and put the spotlight on the beauty of our mountain and our territory". A small reality within the great resource of Monte Arci. Inside the forest, artistic animals are on display, created with organic material recovered in the forest: trunks, branches, branches.
"A journey of art in nature - comments Giulia Balzano, curator of "Un Bosco da Fiaba" - in which the artists are involved in the creation of a forest circuit of installations with the almost exclusive use of perishable material, with a polluting impact reduced to a minimum. A discreet dialogue, respectful of the forest".
After 3 years of record attendance, the route will now be accessible on weekends and holidays, for the month of February from 9am to 4pm, by purchasing a 5 euro ticket, including the eco-tax established by the Municipality .
"The choice arises from two motivations - explains Balzano - The first is the protection of the forest. After the boom of 2024, the need to manage the area arose. The entry numbers will be reduced but there will be the possibility of a more sustainable frequentation of the forest. The second is the possibility of guaranteeing maintenance and creating services that were not present or lacking until now, such as adequate mapping, information that allows to know the history of the installations, the artists who created them and the narrative thread that accompanies them. They are stories that intertwine with each other and with the forest". The institution of the eco-tax (1 euro) is a symbolic intervention, with the sum destined for environmental protection and education projects.
"We intend - Valente comments - to follow up on this wonderful project that is making people talk about us so much in order to achieve the goal of promoting an intervention to enhance but also protect the wooded areas and the natural, geological and cultural resources that are found in these places and that are very fragile".
"The project is a gift to the forest," says Balzano, "a call to an act of responsibility. Bringing people to be in nature as much as possible, developing an awareness of the relationship with the environments, in our case the forest, and making sure that the enhancement project is good for the territory."
