Postpone the final ok to the maneuver. For the Meloni government, the beach dough

The final ok from Palazzo Madama to the maneuver will be postponed to the late morning of tomorrow , just when the premier Giorgia Meloni will be grappling with her first press conference at the end of the year.
For the majority, one more day is not a problem, given that the last two maneuvers were even closed on December 30th . But the accumulation of errors and delays infuriates Pd, Avs, IV and Movimento 5 Stelle in the same way . Lastly, the technical transition report is missing, the one that accompanies the text from one branch of Parliament to another and gives an account of the changes made.
Meanwhile, for the Meloni government, a new, delicate chapter is already on the horizon, namely the eternal question of the 30,000 bathing establishments which, according to the rules written in the Competition Law, should see concessions put out to tender next year, as indeed also imposed by a ruling of the Council of State.
Over the years, the center-right has always been united in defense of beaches and street vendors and therefore the seaside resorts expected an extension from this government which, at present, is not foreseen.
Forza Italia will do it, assures Maurizio Gasparri, with an amendment to the Milleproroghe decree .
«During the autumn and in the first phase of winter - said the vice president of the Senate - the seaside businesses suffered very serious damage with real destruction all over the Italian coast. From this we must start to understand that it is a reality to defend and not a sector to harass. We need to listen to the trade associations and make the best use of the time that the laws in force allow. In fact, there is a deadline that expires at the end of 2023, but which can already be extended with the rules in force in 2024. It would be reasonable to extend this deadline, with the decree called Milleproroghe, to have more time to convince the authorities that the guidelines expressed up to now are wrong and contrary to the interests of a strategic sector for Italy. This is why we wanted rules that would leave a space in time for the new centre-right government. But this time must be extended and well used, following the agenda we have indicated, in the name of confrontation between the majority and with all the other political forces, together with the categories concerned . In this way we will overcome both the wrong decisions of the European Union and the indications of the Council of State based on wrong premises. The coast, in fact, is not a scarce resource but offers space for new businesses, without going to disturb the existing ones, whose activity must be guaranteed over time without harassment, auctions and other oddities".
There is not only the problem of the old concessions but also the proposal launched by the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanché to compete for those beaches that are now free and left to "degrade". An issue that could reopen old disputes (and infringement procedures) with Brussels at the very moment in which the government will ask to renegotiate the Pnrr . Which, however, the government will take care of as soon as the delegations on the bathing establishments are entrusted. Which in all likelihood will go not to Santanché but to Nello Musumeci, minister for civil protection and marine policies.
