Polls are open in Veneto, Campania, and Puglia for the regional elections . Citizens will be able to vote from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. today and from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

A sort of national test, a vote with significant political connotations given that it is the last before the 2027 elections to renew Parliament and that over 13 million voters are called to the polls.

Between September and October, the center-right confirmed its dominance in the Marche and Calabria regions, and the center-left in Tuscany.

In Veneto, the center-right candidate is Alberto Stefani of the Northern League , Matteo Salvini's deputy. For the united center-left, Giovanni Manildo, the former Democratic mayor of Treviso, is running . Also running are Marco Rizzo (Sovereign Popular Democracy), Riccardo Szumski (Resistere Veneto), and Fabio Bui (Popolari per il Veneto). Outgoing governor Luca Zaia leads the list in all provinces.

Vincenzo De Luca, meanwhile, is out of the running in Campania. Former Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico (M5S) is running for the center-left. Edmondo Cirielli, FdI, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, is the center-right candidate . Also running are Giuliano Granato with the Campania Popolare list, which includes Power to the People, Communist Refoundation Party, and the Communist Party; Stefano Bandecchi, mayor of Terni with the Dimensione Bandecchi list; Carlo Arnese (Forza del Popolo); and Nicola Campanile (PER).

In Puglia, Antonio Decaro, the former mayor of Bari who was elected MEP for the Democratic Party a year ago, is running for the center-left . He ousted Michele Emiliano, the governor of the last 10 years (who wanted to run as a councilor), and also opposed the candidacy of Nicola Vendola, who ultimately prevailed. The center-right is backing Luigi Lobuono , former president of the Fiera del Levante. The other candidates are Sabino Mangano (Civic Alliance for Puglia) and Ada Donno, supported by the Italian Communist Party, Power to the People, and the Socialist Risorgimento.
