The first fines are arriving for those who have used sports content illegally through the so-called piece . The fight against piracy in the world of football continues unabated, and after the launch of the anti-pezzotto platform the sanctions arrive.

Very expensive, up to 5 thousand euros . This was announced by Agcom commissioner Massimiliano Capitanio : «The best way to fight piracy is to fight criminal associations but also legal ones that do business by stealing intellectual property».

The reference is also to Google and Amazon, who do not collaborate enough: «Unfortunately – explains Capitanio – a necessary step, even if probably unpopular, will be to fine users of Pezzotto, users of applications easily downloadable from the Android and Apple stores, but also from the Amazon portals , the users of the many sites easily reachable by search engines (which still do not collaborate as they should)". Soon, concludes the Agcom commissioner, " fines of 150 to 5 thousand euros will arrive ".

Those who have been identified thanks to Piracy Shield , the recently launched anti-pezzotto platform which should have already obscured the contents in real time during viewing, will be fined. By tightening the penalties, the Authority hopes to discourage a phenomenon that robs football of over 300 million euros a year.
