Jasmine Paolini is in the final of the Wimbledon tournament and will compete for the title against Czech Barbora Krejcikova, number 32 in the world.
In the semi-final the Italian beat the Croatian Donna Vekic with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 7-6.
«I made a tremendous effort, but I kept repeating to myself: fight for every ball. I am very happy, I will always remember this match", said the tennis player after the match.
«One of the worst sufferings of the last 50 years and we have seen many matches. But great Jasmine, luck is still on our side", was the comment of the president of Fitp, Angelo Binaghi.
Jasmine Paolini is the first Italian to reach the final of the Wimbledon singles tournament and the second tennis player ever for Italy after Matteo Berrettini, who played for the title in 2021.
The Tuscan is in her second consecutive slam final after Roland Garros, where she was defeated by the world no.1, Iga Swiatek.
