The Municipality of Domusnovas with Giovanni Sotgia riding the English thoroughbred Codice d'Onore (Giuliano Porcu stable) won the 35th edition of the Palio di Santa Maria a Guasila . Sotgia scored a double by triumphing also in the neighborhood palio on the Anglo-Arab Zygo (also Porcu stable) representing Is Sagrestanus.

Over 2 thousand people attended the event that was missing since 2019. In the race of the thoroughbreds behind Sotgia, Federico Sanna was placed on Zurrundeddu of the Deiana di Dolianova stable. Third place for Marco Bitti on Sbirulina (Luigi Pilloni di Sanluri team).

The order of arrival of the neighborhood palio is completed instead with the second place of Riccardo Sulis on Belfagor (Sulis stable) representing the Funtana Idda neighborhood and with the third place of Alberto Bianchina on Bors Wana (Renzo Pusceddu stable), Funtana Onnis neighborhood.

Satisfied at the end of the race the jockey Sotgia: “The horses, from the same stable, did very well. As far as I'm concerned, I managed both races well ”. Giuliano Porcu , owner of Codice d'Onore: “We believed in it a lot after second place at the Sassari Grand Prix. Mare liked the trail. The jockey? He mounted it to perfection ”.
