15 years have passed but Peppino Marotto's killer still doesn't have a name or a face. The murder of the poet and trade unionist dates back to 2007: he had left the house, in his Orgosolo, to go to the newsstand and someone shot him six times, 4 in the back and two in the head, by which time he was lifeless on the ground. In the center, in a busy street. But nobody saw anything.

The crime is still an unsolved mystery. “Orgosolo, death of a poet”, will be headlined by L'Unione Sarda on the front page the following day.

Marotto, born in 1925, had returned to the village after a few years of emigration. He was a trade unionist for the CGIL and one of his greatest passions was that of Sardinian popular singing. To him we owe, among others, the foundation of the Tenores of Orgosolo. And then he wrote poems in limba, to put his thoughts into verse.

Today there are many who remember the sad anniversary of her death and above all the fact that she was left without a culprit.
