Once upon a time there was football. That of dusty fields in summer and muddy in winter, where everyone took their shirt home to wash it and reuse it the next time.
It was played in the oratories and, above all, in the street. Where talents were born.
Now the boys from the youth teams have prosecutors and sign contracts. And the parents in the stands turn into ultras who sometimes cause irreparable damage.
Still, all is not lost. The shot by Andrea Piras shows two kids playing football in Piazza Santa Croce, in Oliena.
The mural in the background, created in 2006 by Liliana Cano, almost seems to represent a silent audience but a participant in this match with a flavor from the past. Better times, and not just for football.
